This page is for the Ring-billed Gull (Larus delawarensis). This species is very common around the waterways in North Texas. The December 11, 2021 photo is my first photographic evidence of this bird. I have been seeing gulls on some of my earlier trips to the field, but they were never close enough to tell what they were and the photographs did not have the resolution to tell them apart either. Finally I have been able to get some decent pictures, and now on each subsequent visit, they are staying close enough to get some decent shots. The best photograph I have taken of the Ring-billed Gull to date (above) was from January 15, 2022, taken at the Fort Worth Nature Preserve, Fort Worth, TX.
