This page is for the Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis). My first photographic evidence of the Brown Pelican was on December 27, 2007 at the one of the forts in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The best photograph I have taken of the Brown Pelican to date (above) was on March 25, 2021 at Goose Island State Park, Rockport, TX. I was happy to get a photo of a pelican at Goose Island State Park, as I frequently misidentify the park as Pelican Island State Park. That day there were not too many flying around while we were present.

The following photograph is the best representative image from a different date and location than my species representative example.
