This page is for the Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius). In the field, I incorrectly identified this bird as a Prothonotary Warbler. I had seen the warbler in the same general area the previous weekend, and the bright yellow of the female Orchard Oriole seemed to match as it flitted around the trees. Only after I was doing my confirmatory checks at home did I realize I had misidentified it. The oriole was doing a decent job of hiding and I am happy I was able to get a decent shot.
