This page is for the Willow Flycatcher (Empidonax traillii). This one was difficulty to identify as it looks nearly identical to the Eastern Phoebe. The Merlin app kept identifying it as a Willow Flycatcher, but I wasn’t convinced, so I did more digging. The characteristic that convinced me it is the Willow, in addition to its small size and wing bars (a young Phoebe has faint wing bars) was the yellow on the beak. So, until I am convinced otherwise, it will remain here. My first photographic evidence occurred on July 10, 2022.
