This page is for the White-tailed Hawk (Geranoaetus albicaudatus). We saw one of these birds the day before flying high in the air and at a great distance, but I could never get a photo of it (not that it would have been more than a small speck on a blue sky). Fortunately, I had another opportunity as the boat passed near an island. The hawk was perched on a tree quite a way inland, and with heat radiating from the ground, the image is not as sharp as I would like, but at least it is not just a dot in the sky.
