This page is for the Plain-bellied Watersnake (Nerodia erythrogaster). The sun was about an hour from setting as I was walking along the berm that separates two bodies of water. This little guy was siting at the edge of the path, half on the rocks and half in the grass. He just sat there as I took several pictures from both sides. It was a beautiful snake.
