Cedar Waxwing

Cedar Waxwing perched on a small branch that has a few seed bodies hanging off of it. The position of the bird shows off its black mask, the crest on its head, the yellow tip on the tail feathers, and the small red tips of some of its wing feathers.

This page is for the Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum). I had been trying for a while to get a shot of this species of bird. It seemed they were always just out of reach or a large group flew by so fast I could not get the camera up in time. Finally, I was at a park were they were coming in early in the morning to drink from a creek. A few would perch in the creek-edge trees which allowed me to get a nice shot.
