Odonata (Dragonflies, Damselflies)

Odonata are invertebrates that include the dragonflies and damselflies, with an estimated 6,000 living species. The Order Odonata evolved about 300 million years ago, based on current evidence. Characteristics of Odonata generally include large compound eyes, small antennae, and two pairs of wings that are mostly transparent.
