This page is for the Laughing Gull (Leucophaeus atricilla). This species is common near large bodies of water. The October 6, 2007 photo is my first photographic evidence of this bird. The best photograph I have taken of the Laughing Gull to date (above) was from March 26, 2021 at the Goose Island State Park, Rockport, TX. Their name is aligned with their call, and probably the sound most people think of when they think of gulls at the coast.
