This page is for the Double-crested Cormorant (Nannopterum auritum). This species is common about everywhere I go to take photographs, so I have many photographs of it. It is a familiar bird from my youth and my dad kept trying to teach me to distinguish from other waterfowl. I think I finally caught on at some point. The June 24, 2017 photo is my first photographic evidence of this bird, taken with a very cheap water camera as my wife and I were kayaking on Lake Casa Blanca. The best photograph I have taken of the Double-crested Cormorant to date (above) was from April 25, 2021 at the Fort Worth Nature Center, Fort Worth, TX.
