This page is for the Snow Bunting (Plectrophenax nivalis). My first photographic evidence of a Snow Bunting occurred on April 12, 2023 while I had some free time in Chicago after flying there for a conference so I went to a couple of bird sanctuaries on a beautiful spring day. As out of place as this bird was, it took me a bit to spot it was it was fairly deep in the woods. Thankfully, another birder had already located it and pointed me in the right direction. She looked it up and they all should have headed back north already. I appreciate this bird hanging around Chicago long enough for me to take a few (dozen) photographs.
