This page is for the Nashville Warbler (Leiothlypis ruficapilla). I had been seeing others post about this species at the Colleyville Nature Center, so I headed over there on the weekend. Of course I did not see any during the 3-4 hours I was there. As I was walking back to my truck through the woodland trails, I saw some birds flitting about fairly deep in the woods that I was not able to identify. At first I thought they were probably Eastern Phoebes or maybe Ruby-crowned Kinglets that were just arriving for the winter. When I started reviewing the photos on the computer at home later that afternoon, I was very pleased to see that those distant birds were actually Nashville Warblers, even though the distance and lighting were not great for the photo.
