This page is for the Snow Goose (Anser caerulescens). A good thing about the refuges where the cranes hand out are the massive amounts of Snow Geese. Bitter Lake NWR had more Sandhill Cranes than Snow Geese and the opposite was true at Bosque del Apache NWR. Both locations provided plenty of opportunities to photograph the geese, both in large groups at a distance or a few individuals fairly close. Some of the darker Snow Geese are what is called the “blue morph” or are juveniles.
