This page is for the Black-bellied Plover (Pluvailis squatarola). In Europe, this bird is known as the Grey Plover. These birds were on an island that exists at low-tide. It was so far distant that I could not tell there were any birds on it without a spotting scope or seeing some movement in my maximum-zoomed super telephoto lens. Our guide made the identification which I did my best to confirm after zooming in even more on my computer. In case you cannot see it in the above photo, it is about half way between the third (moving left to right) large, dark rock and the near waterline.
