This page is for the American Oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus). I almost missed my first sighting of this bird as I was looking elsewhere when the boat passed by the artificial jetty. I happened to look behind the boat and there it was, so I hastily got of several shots with the camera. It was quite a ways away, but not too bad of a photo.
