This page is for the Wood Stork (Mycteria americana). This bird was one of the new species I was able to photograph at a conference at Walt Disney World. I spotted the Wood Stork as I was coming back from dinner and it was getting dark. Once dropped off at my hotel, I walked as fast as I could the 9/10th of a mile to where I saw it. He had moved to the far side of the pond and it was nearly dark, but I was able to get a few shots. It allowed me to get fairly close, so combined proximity and a slow shutter speed, it turned out pretty well given the very poor light.
