Tis page is for the Eared Grebe (Podiceps nigricollis), also known as the Blacked-necked Grebe. Normally I would not publish a bird if I cannot make a determination of the species, and this photograph is not good enough to make a determination. However, this far out on the water was a close as we could get. Our guide had a spotting scope through which we could make an accurate determination. Since the bird was confirmed, this very poor photograph is my documentation of the observation. Hopefully someday I will get a much better shot. These are beautiful birds.
