This page is for the Houbara Bustard (Chlamydotis undulata). In researching the birds I would see on the Canary Islands, the Houbara Bustard was on the top of birds I wanted to photograph. Most of the time my photographs are at quite a distance. The bird in the above photograph was very close to the road as we were driving past. It started walking away and looking back at us, never getting in a hurry. The image above is through the tinted window from the rear seat in our van. I’m surprised it turned out as well as it did.
