This page is for the Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus). My first photographic evidence of the Red-shouldered Hawk was on December 28, 2021 at the Cleburne State Park, Cleburne, TX. This is also the best photo I have taken of this bird. We had just arrived at the park and were driving back to the lake when we rounded a curve and approached a bridge. On the footbridge post was this beautiful hawk just posing for us. I took many photos, drove a bit closer, took more photos, and so on. He never seemed distressed so I kept taking photographs. After I had way too many, we headed on toward the lake. This photo op was a great start to a nice day for photographs.
