There are currently 609 known species of the Order Caprimulgiformes which includes eight families: Podargidae (Froghmouths-16 species), Caprimulgidae (Nightjars-97 species), Nyctibiidae (Potoos-7 species), Steatornithidae (Oilbird-1 species), Aegothelidae (Owlet-nightjars-9 species), Apodidae (Swifts-112 species), Hemiprocnidae (Treeseifts-4 species), and Trochilidae (Hummingbirds-363 species). I have photographed 31 (5.1%) of these species of birds, across three families shown below.
