This page is for the Swainson’s Hawk (Buteo swainsoni). These hawks are fairly common around where I live but I have not been able to get a photograph of one, so I was a bit surprised then this hawk flew by me while in New Mexico (where there are just a bit less common). It did not stay in the area long and I was happy to get a picture of one.
