This page is for the Cooper’s Hawk (Accipiter cooperii). My first photographic evidence occurred on January 17, 2022 at the Village Creek Drying Beds, Arlington, TX. He was posing high in a tree on one side of the trail, and the flew to the other side where he was closer and could posed some more. I obliged and took more photos, trying my best not to disturb his hunt. The best photograph I have taken of the Cooper’s Hawk to date (above) is the February 26, 2025 photograph after hearing something crash into our garage door. I went out and saw this hawk flying off with the White-winged Dove in its talons. It went two doors down and began to eat, while I grabbed my camera and started taking photos.
